sorry I'm frustrated with this - Yes like I've said I got the key from xell - Open JF open CFW 0272 - click manual spoof - Enter key Check/ok - Key appears in with the CFW but when I save it or write it it always reverts back to the 777777

No- I have tried on both the TX PCB and normal 0225 unlocked PCB neither will take the injected key. I'm just vendor modeing both pcbs (already at 0X00) writing and re dumping to verify but only coming up with 7s - which is why I then tried saving the CFW so that I had something to spoof down but even that saves as 7s - and yes the key shows correct in the source and I've tried on 2 different computers now just to be sure.

yeah Jungleflasher wont let you do that with dummy.bin's

it gives the error message
Target is LT - ID strings not copied to Target

i get what your saying i had a drive i was using to replace another one and it just did not want to take the keys so i flash in a recovery type method

It's not the drive thats not taking the key, its Jungleflasher.

Jungleflasher doesn't allow you to inject a dvd key into a dummy.bin

It does allow it in all other OFW's though which is where the confusion was coming from

Also your theory for OFW is also incorrect as I've tried with another full dump of a 0225 - JF still will not hold if not using a key.bin or dummy.bin


RROD - what do you mean a recovery method? I can't get a CFW to save with the correct key? It will write the original key - I've gotten the TX that was all 7s to be overwritten with the 0225 dump but it will not hold the manual key injection from the 0272 dump

I just agreed with you, I used one of my dummy.bin's to inject your dvd key and jungleflasher wont allow it. I know you don't have your original dummy.bin

And Lite-ons are mostly all dummy.bin's all other drives are in OFW which is allowed to inject a dvd key (AKA hitachi,sammy,benq) NOT liteon. Please read more carefully

I've just had a look on JF web site and it looks like it can't be done yet unless you have a dump from the drive ... But if you get it sorted you will have to post a tut for the rgh threads

dummy sorted when you need it.

you just need to replace the drive serial info with the info of from your drive..

Thanks everyone - I tried using your technique and it writes the first stage but fails at stage 2 when I click write key

Also how important is the serial number? I mean the pcb is a TX so there is no number on that - the laser has been replaced - and the lid... well how important is that if everything else has been replaced

Unfortunately pretty important if you have no way to access your original PCB with the its serial info then you can't get the DVD drive to work for the console. You can rgh it and play off your harddrive for now unless JF finds a way to rebuild a working dummy.bin w/o serial info
