If I remove this top qsb and disconnect the cr4, should the Xbox run stock? (If its not broke, i never touched its nand, just to read)
Did you wrote ecc to nand? If no you can't boot xell without ecc written in nand. If yes, you need to flash your dump back to nand.

So I did write fw to the demon, then I wrote nand then ecc. Fw was written before install per tut on PC switch. I switched to Xbox, installed, then wrote band and ecc through front piece. THEN I rewrote everything fw, nand and ecc all through front. Xbox switch and all this writing was done in jrunner through demon mode..

when plugged in I got nothing no matter in Xbox mode or demon

ok, I removed the v3 qsb successfully, removed the cr4. left the demon as is.

plugged in, switched the demon to xbox (retail) nand mode, and still nothing. no lights nothing, push the button and it does nothing.

do I have to screw in the board to the chassi and plug in the dvd player for the box to run? I didn't think so..?

what does this mean?

I took pics, and the resistor actually looks ok, ?

Not suggesting you do this but if it was me, I'd now remove the Demon. If you do decide to do that then be extremely careful and take your time. If you lift any of the pads, then your looking at soldering directly to the NAND on the reinstall which is very difficult to do without proper experience.

so demon removal was a success! removed all wiring and put the box back together and it starts and runs fine.

whew. soo... any ideas where/what the issue might have been? It would have had to be in the demon wiring/soldering? because it was the only thing left on the machine keeping it from running.?

how should I proceed? is there a test to make sure things are functional before I attempt an install again?

and would it be easier to do the install on a 16mb Jasper with new dash instead of the bb Jasper 512mb I just uninstallled it from?
I have both, and it doesn't make a difference to me as long as the kids have a working one..

heres some pics (not sure they are needed now that it works.

Nope, I did not do 16mb.

how damaged is it a prob? I am pretty certain that's what it looked like before I took the wire off.
when I get home ill test it
