Hi there,

Tonight I started doing the RGH and I stumbled upon a problem.

The problem I have is; once I try to read the nand with nandpro using the following command:
nandpro usb: -r16 nanddump.bin
I get:
NandPro v3.0a by Tiros

Looking for usb interface device
Can not continue
Soldering went perfect, but once I tried to read the nand with nandpro v3.0 I started getting problems.

Soldering: http://imgur.com/a/VoBBl

What I've done so far:

  • Install NAND-X drivers from: nandpro_20d_drivers > x64 Signed
  • Update NAND-X to ArmV3 with Flash Magic (had to do the wiremod on my ck3 pro rev D) all went fine.
  • I was able to flash the Coolrunner
  • I tried re-installing the NAND-X drivers
  • I tried flashing ARMv3.hex again with Flash Magic

  • I tried reading with nandpro v2.0, but then I get:
    Looking for usb interface device
Incompatible ARM hardware for this version of NandPro!
    Can not continue
Please help! I have no idea wtf I can do next, besides desoldering.

Update:

this seems to be a bug in nandpro 3

I am getting same error. I flashed NAND-X back to v2 , BOOM worked no issues.

Flashed back to armv3.hex same issue, NO USB detected

back to 2.0 works

back to 3.0 same issue
Anyone have a v2 hex file for me?

Heh, I just got this error, I'd connected the PSU cable to the XBox360 but had forgot to plug the power cable in at the wall! lol :D

Plugging in the power cable to the wall outlet *AND* the XBOX 360 fixed it for me

:D

Having same issue here, would like to know what's the problem... It might be the soldering because it isn't my best soldering job, first time xbox soldering :p

dint read it right soz

EDIT : if you haven`t updated the NAND_X to version 3 you need to use NANDPRO 2 !!!!! but you can`t program the coolrunner with that

I too have the same problem ("Looking for usb interface device Can not continue" and then "Reading Error Try Again"). Has anyone solved it yet? It's late now (in Greece) so I am going to sleep and probably tomorrow ask for help and upload some pictures in my own thread.

EDIT: I was so tired yesterday that I tried to read the nand without having the rol/rf board plugged in. So maybe that's a reason for my problem?? Anyway I am at work now, I will try again in about 5 hours or so..

No need to start new thread, lots of people are having the same issue. To make sure if it is your bad soldering or not just try dump Nand-X in some old working JTAG like I did and still same issue.

I had the same issue on Win7 x64 - switched over to a Win7 x32 machine and everything worked first go.

Might be worth a try, before worrying about all the other things that could have gone wrong...

Then it's a problem with your x64 setup. There are things you need to disable when using dll files and drivers from unsigned sources.

The rol/rf board does not have to be plugged in.Just did a 256mb jasper and the board was not used

When I read/write to the NAND, I have nothing connected.

If you want to take it to the extreme, I have a board without a CPU and GPU and the NAND can still be read and written to!

Oh well, I have already tried it both (before I read your messages) but without luck. So I have a problem.. If I reset the Nand-X from the pinhole will it do anything? It was one with the V3 Code in it, will it lose it?

I'm now getting this error too, i had originally done a wired nand x install, dumped the nand and wrote the modified ecc. After installing the coolrunner and getting no boot into xell, i looked at redoing the ecc file (used mb0.3) but now i get this error when attempting to access the nand.

Just to be sure i then installed the nandx qsb to be 100% sure on the connections, all ok.

I am now wondering has the nandx blown? or has something on the mobo died stopping the nand from being accessed.

*update*

I've connected my nand x to another 360 and that reads fine, so it looks like something has died on the mobo stopping me access the nand???
