I have a strange issue with XBMC and my brothers XBox.
I know some people may think this should be posted in the XBMC forums however please not if i remove the HDD and fit it into my X3 xbox it works ok.
Some months ago i chipped his xbox, and noticed that the xbox would hang on a black screen when loading any XBE (games, Apps, selecting the dashboard option and doing restart XBMC or restart xbox), Movies work ok and shutdown works ok.
At the time this was no major issue as XBMC was only used as a media player, Unleash was the dash.
Now my brother wants the same setup as me and use XBMC as a dash. I have updated to the latest version (well ripped it from my xbox as i knew this worked ok). Cleared the XBMC settings from Tdata and Udata. Tested and this still has the same issue.
Tested HDD fitted into my XBOX and it works fine. Set XBMC as dash and same fault so i know its not a strange Unleash issue). figure its something to do with a setting and the mod chip, however from any other dash (ava, unleash and evox) other apps and games run ok and IGR ok).
Anyone encountered this issue before?
Specs are:
Xbox 1.6
X 2.6Ce
Bios 5035 loaded.
My xbox is a 1.1 with X3 and latest X3 bios.
One other point wit this, around the same time as chipping my brothers xbox i did another 1.6 with x2.3 and seem to remember that i could not get this to shutdown to dashboard either with it just hanging. I never tested games or other apps as they wanted to use unleash and XBMC just for media.
Issue is now driving me a little nuts. My brother will put up with this, but if anyone has a solution that would be great.
