Hey,

I was updating an one of my old falcon jtag i have late last nite all was going good I hooked up my jr programmer and was able to dump the nand successfully. Created the falcon bin booted into xell, recovered cpu key and made an updated image. Once I completed that I decided to go ahead and save the updflash.bin to a usb drive to update through xell. The update process started then i started to get a bunch of errors right in the middle of the flash. I let it finish and once it was completed I went ahead and flashed the nand manually with my jr programmer and i got errors right away, So I went ahead and erased the nand using the Advanced setting . Once I did that I tried flashing the updflash.bin back to console and the backup nand and keep getting flash config 0x0000000. I know this is because i erased my nand, my question is, Is there anyway to do a nand recovery in Jrunner since with the Jr programmer I cant use nandpro.

Thanks,

Nowhere
an erased nand has never been a problem for me to write to,in fact thiers been tons of cases where i had to erase it to get back in,id say something else is amiss

Can also be a wiring issue with the NAND reader. As Bl4k3y said, please post pics of wiring. I much prefer to use direct NAND writing methods when flashing/ updating the NAND as this leaves less room for error and u already have the box opened if anything goes wrong.

Another way to do this is to connect the PSU to the console and then IMMEDIATELY after, send the erase command.

This can sometimes be enough to get a good Flash Config and allow you to read/write to the NAND.

Here's some pics of the wiring sorry if the quality sucks. The yellow wire is not connected I had it going to the usb shield for ground. I tried using the short nand resistors trick and still getting flash config: 0x000000. So for the record, I was able to backup the nand sucessful get to xell and start updated and then i was getting errors. Wish I could have taken a snapshot of the errors i was getting. One added thing is It was originally coming from an old xbr image not sure if that matter

I'd go ahead and touch up the soldering with some flux. Make sure nothing is shorted on the top and bottom of the board and try again. If stil no good, then try the above listed methods to get in there.

I agree. Touch up those points with flux and wipe down with Iso-alcohol after to clean up. If still flash config 000000, maybe try a different NAND reader. Have u tried shorting the NAND trick yet?
