Ok, now everytime i try to flash i get this message <Unkown Bios - Flash Halting>. I'm trying to flash the flashbios 3.0.0 to a new version 3.0.3. Why won't this work?

No, the flash protection is definelty off on both the chip and the X3 switch. It says the exact same thing when i try to copy the bios file via ftp.
Could it be that i'm trying to flash flashbios v3.0.3 onto a chip thats in a v1.1 xbox? I need to do this so i can transfer it back to my v1.6 xbox because it won't load the version 3.0.0 flashbios, and yes its the only flashbios on every bank in the chip

Did you set the switch settings correctly after you boot and before you flash? FlashBIOS is a 256k file, thus you need to set to a 256k bank.inkarnate said:
But why do that? Flash the X3 BIOS onto the 1MB bank, then go put it back into the other Xbox, and you wont need to flash anymore.
EDIT: This v1.1 Xbox you’re using to flash with, is an X3 pin header installed on this box?
i've also been trying to flash v1959 into the 1mb bank, and i get the same message. I also tried to network the bios file across and i get this message.

i got the same problem, i have a 1.6 and X3, now a friend has also a 1.6 and i installed the X3, when i want to flash i got the same message unkown flash... halted.
i got as title FLASHBIOS 3.0.0 !!!!!
i did exactly the same as in my xbox but i cant flash the bios, is it possible that the mod is defective ?

OK, obvious question first, have you unrared/unpacked the bios file you downloaded? ie are you trying to flash the .bin file and not the .rar file?

its not my first time i do this, offcourse i flash the bin file bios_X3_1959_v16plus.bin and also tried X3_1959.bin

Just was getting the obvious stuff outa the way, there are some people out there who do try to flash the .rar file, but anyhoo....
Have you tried flashing with the front switch panel unplugged? That sometimes works.
How are you trying to flash, via HTTP or CD?

when youre trying to flash with a cd, im sure that your bios disk isnt burned in the correct way.

i tried it all, with and without frontswitch, via cd and via network
all the same error and i am 100 percent sure the flash protect is off

Same, i tried flashing with a CD with 100mb dummy file on it aswell as the bios.bin file, then i tried flashing via http, still no good. Giving me the sh*ts real quick.
Only other thing I can suggest at the moment is try swaping it with your friends X3, ie see if you can flash you X3 in his xbox and/or flash his X3 in your xbox. That would pretty much tell you if its the X3 that's faulty once and for all.
Where did you buy the X3 from? If it's one of the offical resellers they should take the X3 back if u think it's faulty and check it out/send you a new one. Even if it's not an offical reseller they should do that anyway really.

if you are 100% sure flash protection is set to OFF and you have tested without the switch and you have attempted to flash the mod correctly then its obvious what the problem is

I'm just gunna send it back to www.xecuter.com.au and get them to flash it with the v3.0.3 flashbios

I checked all the switches and flashed the first time and the flash got stuck for like 20 mins. I reset the xbox and tried a reflash. (HDD and CD) but i keep getting unknown bios.
Could it be that the bad first time bad flash fragged the chip?
To reflash it after a bad flash is there a certain switch settings i need to use?
or maybe i have to update to 3.0.3flashbios to get it working properly?
Im using the xapt3r instead of soldering and the D0 point should be correct so I dont think its a faulty install cos it gets to flashbios perfecftly.

I had the same problem, I have a v1.6b and 3.0.1 bios was coming up. I got tech support and was told to use bank 5678. Off on off off and bios 3.0.3 came up. I got mine at systems-mods.com.inkarnate said:
