"Unknown Flash! Halting" error

Hi, today i installed my X3CE on a 1.4 with an Xapt3r, everything goes well until i try to flash it. I disconnected the switch, set the chip flash protection to Off(red LED), uploaded 3294 BIOS as bios.bin.

The HTTP upload says it worked, but my xbox says "Unknown Flash! Halting", does anyone know how to fix this?

maybe try it with the switch connected, and switch set to ON ON OFF OFF and flashprotect OFF.

Ive had that problem and it was that the flash was still protected. u must confirm that u have a red light on the xecuter chip (shows that the flash is unprotected) and if u have the external switch that the flash is set to off (if i remember right its the bottom switch)

The LED on the X3 was red.
I also tried it with the switch connected, nothing.
Also, when FlashBIOS is booting, it says something like "??Read Only".
I also can't boot into the xbox dashboard by holding the power button.

When u are trying to flash , what bank settings on the x3ce switch are you choosing ?

on your first attempt you should be using banks 1-4 ( 1mb range) settings below
1) ----> (on)
2) ----->(on)
3)<--- (off)
4)<----(off)
5)<----(off)

u should tap the power button once u set the banks to 1mb and end up seeing the FlashBios 3.0.3 ..

enable dhcp , and connect thru http and the ip

I've come across alot of helpful people at this site given time and patience you will find a solution that works for your situation
have patience i thought my xbox was a damn paperweight till i combined two ideas of Rookio's into one xperiment and it solved my probs

Also be sure to try your second 1mb bank which is located at:

OFF ON OFF OFF (PROTECT OFF)

Tied the 1st bank, tried it with the switch connected and disconnnected, also the power button features of the X3 dont work, i also tried the 2nd bank and it didnt work.

I think i get a read only error at the start

I think my chip is faulty, so i'm sending it back to the supplier

ha , hmm goodluck withthe supplier they will test the chip and it works you will end up paying double shipping for them to send it back to u..
