Trying to flash my X3 over lan with X3_3283. I boot the Xbox and Flash BIOS 3.0.1 screen comes up, and enable network flashing. Open my browser and enter the IP of the Xbox, and up comes the flash bios utility version 3.0.0. When I try and flash the browser screen says the modchip is being updated message but the Xbox screen gives message Unknown flash! Halting. Could this be because of the different versions?

I’m not quite sure how to update the flash utility so I figured I would see what kind of noob mistake I’m making. I have searched but just can’t find the answer.

OK got it working. The X3 PCB says red-protect, green-unprotect. I had it set to green which I thought was unprotect. It appears the PCB screening is backwards red=Unprotect. I thought I tied it both ways before I posted but who knows.

For real...? It is backwards as on the PCB itself it says "green" is go (unprotected), i'll give it a try...! By the by, did you figure out how to update the FlashBIOS program from 3.0.1 to 3.0.3?

Green is protected, red is unprotected. Some X3s said the opposite of this on the chip itself.

Are you kidding about updating 3.0.1 to 3.0.3? Read my Q&A in my sig...
