You install UnleashX like any dashboard.

Download
Extract
FTP to your Xbox
Edit X3CL to coincide with the xbe file

Yes, you can run other dashboards like you would applications, although I wouldn't advise it.

Well I really don't know how to install dashboards, but thanks I'm gonna go do that right now.

Does it matter where I FTP the dsahboard?

If you haven't already got another dashboard, you'll need a boot disk.

I have an UnleashX boot CD here:

http://www.xbox-guru.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/files/unleashxbootcd.rar

unrar and burn the ISO as an image to a DVD-R.

You should be able to boot from it. Just use the File Explorer to copy the files from the disc to the HDD. Rename the default.xbe to unleashx.xbe.

If he is FTP'ing in then he just needs to make sure he has his HDD setup with the X3(Format and setup each partion) then ftp the dashboard to F: and set the X3 to look there for the dashboard.

No need to make a disc to do it all and the X3 will use DHCP as well as Static for the IP info (if you have a router just use DHCP).

Much easier imo than burning a disc to do effectively the same thing the X3CL will allow you to do.

Has anyone done a Tut on this yet? If not I might put one together.

I misread his previous post - of course, FTPing via X3CL is definitely easier (if you know what you're doing!). There are plenty of tutorials on all of this. Check the link(s) in my sig. A lot of people just don't seem to want to read them....

That would be because the links need updating since the forums have been moved. I know I have checked a few of them out myself :)

Should'nt I be able to use DVD-RW as well? For whatever reason I can't seem to do it but I will try using a DVD-R next.

How are you burning the ISO file to DVD-RW?

I tried a CD-RW as well but the xbox totally ignores it after I followed a tutorial from this site to the letter. At least with the DVD-RW the box says it can not read it.

DVD-RW should work fine.

Open Nero
Select Recorder / Burn Image.
Select the ISO file

That's all you need to do to burn an ISO to disk. Is this what you were doing?

Yes. Now I got it, I tried the UnleashX link one of you guys supplied and it worked this time. I'm just having a bit of trouble saving it to my xbox hard drive.

Hey Martin C,

When you say:

What exactly do you mean? (Sorry, I'm a noob, too). If one of your tutorials explains it, just let me know which one and I'll go straight there.

Thanks!

Ok, new question, I looked over your dashboard tutorial on the and I think I may have it figured out. While reading their dashboard tutorial, it mentioned that the X3 CE is setup to look for the EvoX xbe I assume by default. So, if I rename my ux xbe to "evoxdash.xbe" and it should work,..... is that right?

Either that, or else there's a way to edit the X3 Config Live to look for the UX dash instead, if so, how do I do that? I haven't really done anything with the X3 CL yet, so I'm not sure where to go.

Thanks!,

It's called dashboard boot priority. You change it to boot the dash you want.

I tried renaming it after succesfully burning the boot link. Thing is when you go in to file explorer which side is considered the HDD, the left pane or the right pane? I'v been trying the right but I guess I'll try the left if it matters at all.
