Unlocked DG-16D4S Help

I bought a replacement PCB for my DG-16D4S Firmware 0401. It was from an Xbox with a mismatched drive that my friend bought. I RGH'd his Xbox and got the DVD Key and type of OSIG of his motherboard from J-Runner and all that info. How would I inject the key into this mismatched drive?

I installed the PCB thats all, not sure what to do after the install since I don't have the original drive or dummy.bin.

I read this guide but it is for DG-16D5S http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php/99437-DG-16D5S-Replacement-PCB-LTU-Tutorial

I would like to remove the RGH and use it on my console, that is why I don't want to leave it RGH'd. He just wants to just be able to play games, and doesn't care about going on LIVE.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I also found this guide but its for firmware 9504/0272. Since all Xbox's are now on 0272 can I use this guide? If so how do I retrieve the dummy.bin from the motherboard?

You don't really need a flashed drive on an RGH system.

You can simply install game discs to the hard drive.
I want to have the ability to still play game disc without installing on the system hard drive. Can it be done?

right near the beach :)
rip the disc with XBC, extract the ISO with exiso, then drop it on a FAT32 USB HDD or, like BL4K3Y said, LTU. You've lost your encrypted keysector. You need that for traditional DVD drive flashing

yes it can. you have to get the key that's on the drive. fyi make sure you keep that original nand someplace safe you will need it if you ever want to go back to stock

If you read the OP, he has the key from RGHing the console. He will never be able to go back to "stock" because this "was from an Xbox with a mismatched drive that my friend bought."

Okay I have the key from the drive and a backup of the original NAND. How would I dump the drive key into the NAND? Using Xebuild in J-Runner?

If I keep the console RGH'd can I dump the drive key into that NAND, to play games on disc?

You say you have the key from the drive, but it came with a mismatched drive, right? If so, that's no good.

For this to work with game discs, you will need to use the whole LTU system; PCB and firmware.

If you have the CPU key and a NAND dump from this console, you can just load both into J-runner and it will show the DVD key in the KV. You can then use that along with the files you dump with J-runner (see the LTU tut) to build the LTU firmware and write that to the 16d5s replacement board.

Okay thanks would this matter if the drive says 0401 but the NAND read says its a 9504? Or should I flash the new drive pcb firmware to 9504 to match what the NAND read said it was?

If you have backup discs, I'm going to assume you own the retail discs too.

As I said in my previous post, you can install those games to the hard drive or play them from their discs.

Hi there,

If you are saying that you are wanting to keep the RGH console as it stands, but want to play games with the drive, then go ahead with the info given by AlleyNerd. As you can use phat drives in a slim RGH, as long as you use nofcrt patch and correct drive key for your console.

If you are wanting the console as stock, without coolrunner in, Non RGH'd.

You will get flagged for a ban, if you do not use correct drive key and correct drive that came with the console, when you first purchased it. For instance Hitachi drive, and you now have a liteon installed as an example.

I'm unsure if you can change the osig under the Keyvault settings with the ones for the drive you are using and create a retail nand, for it to work that way, however you would still be flagged either way, unless using correct drive.

Hope this helps ;)
