ANSWERED unlocked lite on dg-16d5s

I have a real noob question. If I purchase an unlocked xecuter pcb do I still have to load the firmware or is it ready to play back-ups?

You will need an ltu2 pcb and you will need to rgh the console for this drive type

Of course you will need to load firmware. At first you need to get your DVD key, which is obtainable only with rgh (unless you have it).

So am I best off sending out my dvd drive and having them flash it?

a d5s drive can only have lt3 firmware flashed to it by replacing the drive pcb to a ltu2 lite on pcb, you also cannot retrieve the dvd key from the drive that can only be retrieved by dumping the nand optaining the cpu key and decrypting the nand files.

expensive the ltu2 pcb are not that common anymore(there no longer in production).

Yes because use of the drive type, are you sure that is the drive you have? What year is the console?

yep and stay away from ebay for anything like this as 99% are fakes and do not last aslong as the original ones due to build quality.

i would suggest you start a "service request" thread stating what you want and where you are and all that jazz and im sure someone will shoot you back with a quote

might be cheaper to buy a pre-flashed console from a trusted member selling one (ltu2 pcb, labor, shipping x2, etc...)
