Manufacture and personal preference

The freedom board has one advantage you don't have to open the console to reflash

One thing I will tell you is that the support here for TX product is second to none and the quality of the materials and engineering is without question, I would recommend the TX product every time.

So, other than different manufacturers and personal preference, the only difference between the two pcb's is that the freedom board can be used without opening the console (after installing). The reason I'm asking is because on the non TX board, in their description, it states that it can be used on boards that are either winbond or mxic. Is that true for both?

My main concern was if the pcb on my lite-on was a winbond, if I can still use the tx pcb? Or due to the new 1175 pcb coming out, does it not make any difference anymore?

you're replacing the pcb so whether it's winbond or not makes no difference...never did ..that's the whole point of a replaceable PCB

Finally, someone steps up and gives a straight answer. Thank you talby71. That's all I really needed to know.
