Unlocking LiteOn Slim DVD Drive

Hello everyone! I have a locked LiteOn slim DVD drive and just wanted to make sure I'm getting the right part I need. From what I understand, you could use either a Sputnik360 probe or switch to unlock the DVD drive. Are these the parts I need? Also, I'll be unlocking more than one DVD drive, so wouldn't it make more sense to get the Sputnik360 probe? Thanks!

You need to determine whether it's winbond or mxic. You need compatible sata. Then after those two are figured out you can determine your necessities

sputnik is only if you have MXIC chip ond the dvd board, if not then you use KAMIKAZE hack for the WINBOND chip (you have to drill the chip), sputnik switch is per drive not for multiple use, but you can use basic rusian hack for mxic instead, 10 ohm resistor cut trace and unlock then solder the trace back

Thanks for the guides! Would it be easier to use the Sputnik360 switch instead of the probe? I'm considering possibly getting a switch for each DVD drive instead of using a probe.

I recommended you to give it to someone and get the job done ,but first check witch MT chip you have winbond or Sputnik !

I guess it depends on your skills? - The probe is much easier, 1 cut.

I use liquid solder to repair trace cuts - makes it nice and simples....
