Hello I have been looking around for a Switch with the right serial, but so far I have had no luck. I tried Amazon but the console was new model. I tried eBay and a user said I should try the Xecuter forums so here I am.

Anyone know a good place to get one? Or if someone is selling one (UK)

go to your local stores that sell switch's and look through all their s/n... i'm sure you'll find one tucked away in the back.

if not try other stores or a second hand game store reseller

Useful to some but due to me being in the UK Walmart and Shopko are sadly out of the question. Thanks anyway!

try every local retailer ya have there. unlike perishables stock on stuff like that is rare to get rotated and new stock goes in front.

Walmart is where I got both of mine. I simply asked to see the SN before buying. The first time I took a look there were only 3 that were low enough. I then went back just a few days ago, and most of the ones were likewise too high, but 1 was low enough - and happened to have the exact same serial number as one of the 3 from a few weeks prior, so it definitely did get pushed to the back.

Unless someone else in your area is specifically looking to buy them any department store that received them should be OK. For a while at least. and if it's not in one store, try another. They seem to spread them out in the warehouse so even some new shipments can include a lower number.

I bought mine brand new last month from GAME.co.uk It was the Super mario odyssey limited edition bundle (the one with the red joycons) and it came unpatched on fw 3.0.0. It was £329.99 so a bit expensive but well worth it.

Idk if they sell them anymore but that bundle and the Splatoon 2 one (with green and pink joycons?) are the ones to look out for as they are 2017 bundles. AFAIK there are no other bundles from before Jul 2018 (the patch date)

Ones with just a game are NOT the right ones and those will just be regular switches with a game packed in. (a lot of places do this) you can look out for those as they will not have the picture on the box and will just be a stock photo of the game and a switch box.

If you can't find any of these, then CeX will be useful as most used switches will be unpatched and they offer the cheapest prices along with the rare eBay deal.

I can confirm that this bundle (Mario Odyssey) was one of the three consoles I saw at my Walmart that were low enough in firmware. They were sold out last time I bought a Switch though, as we are getting close to holiday hopping. Good idea looking for bundles though, especially if you have to shop online, just gotta make sure the bundle you get was specifically from before the date of hardware revision.

also make sure its an actual bundle from nintendo not just including a particular game.

@walmart you can see all the SN#'s , unless the box is facing the other way..
I just asked them If I could see the other side of the box and said that there are a certain of switches which have a defect in them from a specific SN# range.. lol

Just visit local stores.

I couldn't find any unpatched switch in local stores, but I was looking for the Neon Switch (that switch with the left joycon blue and the right red). When I started looking for the gray switch I found a lot of it. So, if you try to find in local stores, check the gray. At least here in Brazil that worked for me

IN eu it might be hard to find older switches tbh!.Maybe some gamestore that doesnt sell as much got some in stock..orr go to a 2nd hand store and check switches..Go 2nd hand store!..even if switch is a bit fauly overheaty issues and such you can fix it by replacing Therrmal paste and Fan etc..is worth it + you can modify it

2nd hand store, i will not recommend..
If you buy a blacklisted Switch then you would never be able to get into the store... but that's just my thought.
I would check Ebay, and contact stores, and just ask for the part of the SN#.. they are not that picky imo.

Good luck!

Shipping from US to Europe is going to be very expensive.

Hi,

I just bought a used Switch on ebay that arrived today. This seller has roughly 6 left, he was nice enough to give me serials for them. It arrived in excellent condition too, none are banned according to him and the one I got was able to do the SD card upgrade:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/392094454393?ul_noapp=true

XAW70005XXXXXX
XAW10057XXXXXX
XAW10010XXXXXX
XAW40000XXXXXX
XAW10050XXXXXX
XAW10036XXXXXX

It did, however, ship with 6.2.0 so I'm just waiting for TX to fix things. This one is my backup-hacked switch, I have a 6.0.1 SXOS and a shiny new Switch for online games. Anyway, HTH!
