LITEON 83850 v1 Unreadable disc error

Right have tried everything with this drive other than get a new drive board for it would love to k ow what is stopping it from reading games anyway have tried the following

Known working laser
Known working ribbon cable
Have taken laser and ribbon out of drive and fitted to a benq with correct key and it boots games perfect

So as far as I can see this just leaves the board itself

If I put a game it comes up play game but refuses to show the picture when I try to start the game it will soon up perfect but eventually come to the error disc is unreadable

This is with original and burned games

Also have tried stock firmware and lt3.0

Are the laser supports greased enough? Could be catching on those. If not maybe check the ports on the board.

Worm gear? Does it make funny noises when trying to read the discs?

Yeah that too, have you confirmed the laser is moving correctly buy taking the top off and ejecting it or something?

does the motor spindle that the dvd sits on spin freely or is it tight

Everything mentioned has been checked and is fine I have the top off so can see and hear everything the laser is moving fine and the spindle is spinning freely

Really thinking its to do with the board

Have you tried replacing the sata and power cable as well?

I could just stick a benq drive in it and b done with it as its an RGH console so won't go on live

But would rather fix it as that's all part of the fun of modding

In replaced the sata one didn't replace the power one will try now

Honestly I dont see the power cord being likely but it cant hurt to try.

Nope still the same sometimes it goes to start the game and then just goes to a black screen which locks the 360 up until I turn off but don't get this problem with the other drive in place even using the same laser and ribbon cable

Does it play DVD Movies fine? What about Original Games? Are you having problems with backups, or Both?

Just tried DVD and is playing fine but struggles with orignal and back up games

The key is fine and have written original firmware back and still the same
