Unreadable disc!

Hey guys! I am having problem with my flashed 360, (hitachi), i have the firmware that was the newest one before the ixtreme firmwares,(the one before the big update and the banned boxes)

My issue is that whenever i try to play a "backup" copy of Halo 3 and Nhl 08 or fifa 08, it doesnt play at the first shot, at first it says unreadable disc, then when i eject and try again it says open tray, and then i have to try at least 5 times untill it plays the game. But the original games start at the first try. at first it was only the new games but now its like this with all of my games, games like fifa 07.

I wanna know if it is the firmware or is it the dvd-reader that has some issues.

Can i do anything about it?

its either your laser or you need to do the sharp rod method ? have you changed the discs you are using recently ?

I have always used Verbatim.

Sharp method? how do i do that?

sharp rod method search the forum for it you can use a bike spoke for the rod !!
