Ok i have been mulling over this one for days now here is the situation:

I have 3 consoles all flashed all running the same dash and Lt 3. 2 of these consoles will boot my XGD3 backups no problem the third one however will not i get DISC UNSUPPORTED message. Thinking it may be the drive i have swapped them all around into the 'faulty' console but to no avail still getting the message. Does anyone have any idea what the problem can be. Needless to say all 3 consoles are played offline 24/7. Also drives have been flashed to stock then reflashed just in case this was an issue. Please help!!!

P.S. Backups were made on iHAS and are burned correctly. ABGX used and original works

You mention nothing about your originals not working.

What are you using to back your originals up with, and logs, so we can see if there are errors

You sure message is disk is not supported? Maybe its cant read disk? It can be laser, ribbon... Motor... Even pcb... So to stop guessing what error are you getting exectly. Coz disc is not supported appears when you put xgd3 in to stock or lower then 3.0 flashed drive. Please reffer to error first.

As per my original post i have tried 2 other drives in the same console (drives i know work!!) but to no avail. Yes it definitely is disc not supported error. Will try a different sata cable...Will a pc SATA cable suffice

The drive might not have the right key on it. If it doesn't you will need to RGH it and get the key. From there you can manually spoof the key and flash the correct keyed firmware to the drive

"using 0800 drive to do backups. I mentioned in my edit that the originals work"

Not if his originals work. The key should be fine.

I believe he is saying if he swaps the drive completely whatever drive he uses gives the same issue correct? That should rule out any laser or drive component.

OP what if any work has been done to the motherboard? Previous repairs etc?

Maybe you should. No avail means the drives did not work either.
