Hello,

I ran into this problem when I upgraded my xbox hard drive for the 2nd time. Xbox with Xecuter 4981.06 bios. FTP'd all my data off my xbox to PC and then dropped in a larger drive in the xbox and decided I should upgrade my flash to the X2 5032 version before I moved my data onto the new drive. I guess that was the WRONG decision as apparently after troubleshooting forever why some FTP transfers of data back to the new drive were failing, I discovered that all filenames with letters containing é caused the ftp to lock up or reject my file. Puzzled as to why because I had just taken all that data off the other xbox hard drive, I hooked up my original drive and the files with the funky letters were not even listed! It was only then that I decided to flash my bios back to the original and then the files on the original drive showed up once again in the ftp list. I'm now ftp'n my data back to the new drive apparently without any problems. Why do newer bios' not support this character? It seems rather important unless you want to the file system to not see these critical files... PS, tested some other releases of bios and they could not see the files either, only this older release of X2 that I had sees them.
