Ok a question, this was probably answered at the time, but i must have missed it.

I've got here a customer's xbox, 9504 with 12625 dash, so it's still unlocked. Can i install a tx PCB, update from there, and keep the original PCB unlocked? or does the update not work when you have a tx pcb?

Read the OFW from the original PCB and then update the console this will lock the PCB and change it to a 0272 drive :)

Then install the TX PCB using the original dummy.bin as source and you are good to go buddy :)

That's not really what i meant, i'll try to explain better.

I'ld use the TX PCB to do the update, and therefore saving an unlocked PCB for some other drive.

But i remember seeing that the update rejects the TX PCB and does not allow you to continue. Am i correct?

Correct the update expects to see the SPi unlocked and then locks it after re-flashing :)

In this scenario (using TX PCB) the update wouldn't be able to lock the PCB causing it (the update) to fail :mad2:

Mybad for mis-interpreting your initial enquiry
