Update dashboard?

Hello,

I just purchased a x360usb pro and probe to flash my drive to play backups. My current dashboard is 2.0.16747. Should I update my dashboard prior to flashing? It looks like since i'm already on an updated dashboard there is no reason to go with the latest? Are there any drawbacks to upgrading past 2.0.16747?

Update dash ,then get an original stock fw dump (keep it safe) ,then flash drive ,theres no drawbacks that I know of ,of being on the latest dash only thing I know of is the external storage increase size.
