Well I think this may baffle some,it certainly has me.
Here's what I have up to now. I purchased an xbox on ebay advertised with update fail.Claiming never been opened or flashed etc. Thinking this would be an easy fix,I booted up the box.Briefly shows xbox logo then into the grey window with the usual message .Cannot update contact xbox.com,etc. There is however no error code just this:- P.V:0.0.0.0 CV :2.0.7371, at the bottom of the window. Thinking it may be jtag related,I opened the console,and could find no signs of it being jtagged.Xclamps still in place.It had a benq dvd drive,which I dumped the firmware of, and it was a stock 64930C. Ive tried a few reflashes to stock and different dashboard updates,but cant shift it. That is both pre and post 13599 stock firmware for this drive.The post 13599 gives an E66 error.So I tried a liteon 74850C on stock firmware with the same result after updating the liteon to 02510C it also gives me an E66 error.Before I try a sammy and a hitachi has anybody else come across a situation like this as I have never seen a message like the above with any failed update.Nothing in jf to suggest a spoofed drive just exploring the probable before the impossible. Thanks in advance for any info.
