They are a little low, but I attributed that to the fact that the wiring was still in place. What do the low values suggest? I have replaced the southbridge so I do not believe the chip is the cause. Where else would you suggest that I check?

not thread hijacking or anything but ive came across the exact same situation on a console last night, going to dump the NAND tonight and figure out what happened.

console owner said wifi network went down mid update, and now its stuck in an update loop same as yours. latest m$ update on USB pen fails with same error code (roughly) as does disk update. i must check the hex thing when i get it back later.

hope you get it sorted!! good luck!!

I did a reflow on the southbridge first, and then it wouldn't power on, so i reballed it and it powered on. After I realized that it had the same issue, I replaced the southbridge (issue was not resolved)

It has always had a Jasper 512 come up in J-Runner. The chips are both labeled "PSB X817692-002 B-A0" then what I am assuming is a serial number? Do they have to be exact?

It does tell me that the header is wrong and I have to manually select "Jasper 512" in a dialog box that appears.

managed to fix my issue with similar error code

dumped NAND, glitched and got CPU key, figured out dash version and LDV, created retail NAND, flashed and updated to latest with USB, works perfect.

do you have progskeet or demon to read/write nand if the SPI interface is bad?

I do have a progskeet 1.2, but I couldn't find any diagrams to wire it up.

have you try using a different 360 hard drive to apply the update. seems like the internal hdd may not have enough space free
System updates have feck all to do with a HDD (for the last time).

Yeah. That is the most odd part. Boots to update loop.
I think it's related to this issue.

Check WP and WE on the NAND.
