as i posted earlier, i didn't play halo 3 via crackdown but bought the friends and family key that was e-mailed to a beta winner who in turn sold it to me on eBay.

i haven't connected to live since the afternoon of the 17th when i read about the bans. but i said screw it, if I'm banned then I'm banned, and turned the xbox on this morning and LUCKILY i still haven't been banned.

now that i'm connected, i'm thinking about actually not turning off my xbox because it seems that people are being banned from reconnecting to xbox live when they first turn on their box.

who knows... it's probably only a matter of time for me.

ps. if you're wondering, I've only backed my games and i didn't play halo 3 beta via crackdown but a different method. also, i have the Hitachi v47 max.gar. v2.3 stealth rev and i stealth check all my backups. and yes i have played the backups online as i lost my original madden 07, but i think my ex-roommate stole it...

hmm sounds interesting a bit doggy tho there must have been some sort of encryption on the disc/file.

just a guess tho.

My friend is online and playing the Halo 3 beta through a backed-up Crackdown disc.

Need to find a new tree to bark up... :|

son's console...

-last played on xbl: april
-got spring update then logged off
-never played crackdown or halo 3 (just kiddie games)
-ms25, xtreme 5.2 (was upgraded at one point from 4.2, had existing xbl acct at the time)
-location: georgia, US
status: banned

son signed onto xbl yesterday for the first time since april to spend some points to buy xbl arcade games then came back 30 mins after dinner... lo and behold.. banned.

Everyone stop playing backups until they come up with a solution due to the bannhammer (lol), don't even play them offline because we think that the new dashboard might have the ability to detect and store info taken from the drive and is able to report to MS once connected to live.

well i read something on xbox scene's main page describing what Microsoft might be doing to figure out who's modding. so if you haven't been banned, don't play your backups! check out their page to see what i'm talking about:

xbox-scene.com

still unbanned! hopefully it will stay tha way!
