FIXED update loop

got a xbox come in today thats stuck in update loop,at first it was the fact it had wrong drive had a sammy rather than liton.
ive sorted that problem,but now it says insert disc to finish update,problem is it come from a clearance so i dont have a clue what disc they was using...
do i actualy need that disc or could it be finished off with a usb stick update?

Trial and error, Find the next dash update than the one that is on it and find out.

find out first what dash it on then use the corresponding update from it using flashdrive

Used the 2nd set of digits to see what it is trying to update to

****-397d-****-****-****-****. This would be 14717

13599 would be 351F
13604 would be 3524
15574 would be 3CD6

so on and so forth

To be honest, I'm not too sure, I don't see why not. If it doesn't work you could burn it to a disc, if that doesn't work it would be a case of finding a game with the correct update

Can't you flash the correct retail firmware to it with a device such as Nandx or JRP to correct the problem as well?

Im not sure, but I was under the impression you could.

You would need the CPU key for a new image build - not needed in this case.

doesn't matter where the update finishes from

cheers for the input lads,i can report back that you can finish the update off via usb,as it is only the $system update folder it reads.
so no annoying tasks of trying to find the right disc:tongue:

wish id of known bout this last year,i did my first RGH on a xbox on update loop cos i didnt know what to do lol:facepalm:
