I know that it has already been asked a lot, but i dont seem to find the answer that it works. i just got the Team xecuter pro for my gf brothers switch i stopt the updates after update 8.1.0 and we got it today but like you would know suddenly there's an update 9.0.0, not a problem at first but now I notice that the sd needs to be updated (yeah dumb mistake for not doing that sooner) and now im looking for a way to update the sd reading to EXfat instead of Fat32 without updating the switch.

i have a cfw switch myself but i had that taken care of before i began with the xecuter.

so i heard a lot about installing the same firmware but the first one says it works and the other says it doesnt. but i am not so hopeful for the new 9.0.0 update to be hacked soon.

hopefully someone has an answer for me.

Although i read your post multiple times, i still didn't get it... what do want to update? (since the SD didn't need any update)
If your Sysnand is on 8.1 and the update(9.0) isn't downloaded yet, start the switch into the RCM Boot menu (insert the jig, press and hold Vol+ and press the power button. (if your license is activated, hold the Vol+ button until you entered the boot menu)
Create an Emunand (hidden partition) - boot the switch - ready. You now have a full operating Emunand for your Homebrew, and a clean Sysnand for online playing. (still wouldn't boot and update the sysnand to 9.0 until SXOS supports 9.0 )

If the Firmwareupdate is already downloaded, then first enter the maintenance mode (holding Vol+, VOL- and the Power button, no Jig required)
After entering the maintenance mode, turn the switch off and proceed with the creation of the emunand as described above.

The point is that the switch needs an system update to allow exfat but the current update is 9.0 and that disables sxos so I need to find a way to update the firmware but to the same version just with exfat support with my switch I had the luck of having an newer supported software so I could update.

- Format your SD to Fat32.
- Copy boot.dat, license.dat,
- Create Emunand
- copy choudujour NX and the firmware 8.1 onto the SD card (boot.dat and license.dat should still be there)
- Boot into Emunand
- install 8.1 (with ExFat Support) using Choidujour
- after finishing format your SD card to ExFat
- copy boot.dat and license.dat back to the SD card
- ready ;)

Edit: you can get the firmware here:

allready tried keeps crashing mid install.
You mean the installation of the firmware? So creating emunand worked?
If so, did you launch Choidujour in applet mode? ( via gallery ) This could cause the crash.
Press and hold the button R while launching any installed game. This should start the Homebrew Launcher (which has access to the full RAM of the switch) , start Choidujour from here.

jet again it stops at the same point and isnt going further. I did this on emunand like the other times.

(stopping point)
Seems like it is not possible to install the same firmware version to enable ExFat.
So you must downgrade (emunand) to 8.0.1 with Choidujour and then reupgrade to 8.1.0 with exfat.

Same error here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/cannot-enable-exfat-on-8-1-0-using-choidujournx.542212/

P.S. i would disable AutoRCM, cause i see no reason for it with an unpatched switch. There are no benefits, but if your battery runs empty in autorcm, it's a pain in the ass to get that working again, since the switch won't charge while shut off.

yeah seen that forum but yeah switch is on firmware 8.1.0 when i started so fuses are burned. i cant downgrade
this should work, since the custom bootloader gives a sh*t about burned fuses.

Quote from the thread " AutoRCM will always enter RCM. You don't need it because you can also boot with a jig to RCM. It seems you misundersanding something. If you have fuses burnt up to 8.1.0, you can still downgrade but not boot to it with official Nintendo boot loader. Therefore you have to enter RCM and boot with custom boot loader to bypass the fuse check. "

I had my Sysnand on 8.1 (to play online, so the fuses were burned (10)) and my emunand on 7.0.. (expected 9 fuses were burned) and this works like a charm.
so give it a try... all you can lose is the emunand.
