so this afternoon i get on and see a new version of jrunner. YAY!!! new software so i downloaded the update. and now jrunner no longer recognizes my demon slim anymore. when i opened jrunner the demon logo appeared like usual then after the update it was gone. my demon still works perfectly fine besides the fact that neither demon toolbox or jrunner sees it. any ideas as to why this is happening? i have a new uninstalled phat demon that i hooked up using the micro usb and wouldn't you know it the demon logo showed up on jrunner. i sure hope this update didn't damage my demon.

Updated jrunner and demin and nonproblems here. Might be a problem with your jnstall or daughter board. I been reading a lot about people breaking the usb.

It happened immediately after the update. And I know it's not the daughter board either but to disprove your theory i installed a different one and still the same results.

nothing changed demon-wise on JR, so the "new update" isnt the problem

Did you try the DemoN Toolbox?
read more carefully blakey :p

the install pics are irrelevant it worked prior to the update and now it doesn't. i don't have a jrunner log because all i did was update jrunner. i would update my demon if i could get anything to recognize it. and yes i did try demon toolbox no luck there either. my soldering is solid and i know its nothing on my end. something happened during the update.

My apologies. I didn't mean any disrespect. I'm just irritated. I even went as far as a system restore on computer to see if it would fix the problem. Still no luck.

i tore it all down and checked all ribbon cables and one must have become dislodged from the clip. but jrunner was acting flaky when i connected it a few times. jrunner would lock up but i eventually got into demon toolbox and updated to 1.04 and had a scare in there that locked up and i couldn't get out of boot loader mode but i finally got it.

How did you get it out of boot loader mode? The update should take only a few seconds. Please elaborate at the length of time it was locked up for and what you did prior and after it locked up. (Example yanked power cord from xbox and it magically unlocked). If its locking up there are a few reasons it could be causing the lockup.
1) something else is attempting to interact with the demon.
2) Your Demon is having issues with the usb connection. This can be a range of various issues.

i tried to use jrunner to update the firmware on the demon i selected the 1.04fw file and it entered boot loader mode. jrunner grayed out and had an error message so i clicked ok and jrunner closed. it no longer showed up in jrunner. so the demon light was still flashing (boot loader mode) i attempted to reuse jrunner twice and no luck. i then unplugged the console hoping it would get out of boot loader mode no luck there either. so i started demon toolbox and it showed up in demon toolbox stating it was in boot loader mode and there was no fw programmed. i selected update demon firmware and directed it to the file. it also error-ed out so then i power cycled the console a second time. and still stayed in boot loader mode. it was recognized again in demon tool box i then tried to update the fw again and thank god it programmed successfully. now all is working well.

the whole length of time from entering boot loader mode the first time and then successfully programming the fw was with in about 5-10 minutes. programming took a whole 10 seconds at most.
