Updated to new dash with dvd drive diconnected

Ive updated my dash to the lastest dash while my dvd drive wasnt connected at all... i programed my pcb and everything going crazy...anyways my dvd drive tray is open and never closes no matter what i do i need help TX

wow - bad move updating without the drive connected - flagged now methinks - as for the drive problem, you must have fitted the PCB incorrectly possibly?

I know this isn't an answer to your question but here goes:-

1) Why did you do a dashboard update without your DVD drive being connected?

2) When/where have you read within the TX forums that you can do a dashboard update with the DVD drive disconnected?


You people never cease to amaze me with your crazy ideas :eek:

However the entertainment value is priceless :D

before you all go out and think im dumb it was an accident my x360 has been in pieces since i got it then when the 1.9cfw came out and at the same time the new dash i thought id update the dash then deal with the pcb little did i remember it was unplugged :( im not banned im sitll able to access live n do everything you possible can on the 360 just i dont think the x360 knows theres a drive anymore...why cant it be like a computer when you re install windows without a keyboard you can jst re format it and do it again...so no solution? only wait for a new dash update??

even with the drive not plugged in it still has the close try in xmb then you can close it using the controller and the itll say closing then itll close then say opening tray...strange piece of M$HIT

only option is you mite have to buy pcb and install the latest FW when releases if u lucky to find pcb! they all out of stck

flash went ok

even with the DRIVE out of the console it does the same thing lights flash to open xmb says close tray...pcb has nothing to do with it its jst i THINK 99% sure i updated to the latest dash with the drive being disconnected because when its connected to the ck3 i can press eject to open and close but on the 360 when i switch it on it opens automatically den wen i switch it off it closes then opens den shuts off

no possible way to get my x360 bak to normal?? coz i was thinkin of putting it in pieces with my truck

last update i had a customer who turned off halfway thru the update i had to erase his drive and then proceed with the update with the erased drive to get it to finish it was stuck in a circle of error codes not sure if its any bearing on u or how u could wipe that 0225 as it doesent get reflashed during the last update...i think your only solution would be 1.9 firmware on a pcb or try get ya pcb writable using the russian hack method...also slim spares are hard to get hold off u could strip stik it on fleabay and easy make enough to buy a new console only m8y....

pcb has fw written too it why else would there be a disable write on it :S anyways with or without the drive plugged in the tray dusnt close

and also does anyone know why with the ck3lite it doesnt open and close

Some people are suggesting that you double check the wiring i.e. make sure they are stripped correctly - try checking continuity with a multimeter.
you could always try a temp rewire on the priginal PCB? see if it work with that in?

Well your definitly ban flaged....

It sounds like the update has failed because it tryed to flash a drive with new 0272 firmware that wasn't there, and has corrupted the system.

Its a stupid move thats caused a big problem, other than clearing updates connecting a stock 9504 keyed to your console and hopefully getting something. The console would be dead...

only the 9504 drives get flashed to 0272 not the 0225's the flash has been done like 10 times and all OK the xbox is on live im straming videos etc just cant keep that f******** drive tray closed

tried that from a different post thanx but didnt help :(
