thats what i was thinking but why is it the xbox cant re apply an update like the ps3 :S is it because the update is up to date like it doesnt even come up update available (from flash drive) do you want to update? ?

yeah just now its the same thing...but the thing is the drive is NOT plugged into the console and it still does the same thing...in xmb it has 'close tray' you close it then it has on screen 'opening'
So either way, u power the drive from ck3, and when unsing eject on ck3, it works ok - it's only when used in the console it's doing this - when u say xmb? I thought that was a PSP thing - excuse my stupidity here - is xmb on your pc? If so, how is the drive hooked up?

not sure what xmb is, but from reading the post's he means when on the 360 main dashboard/screen when hooked up to tv
yeah the dashboard sorry about all the confusion...when drive is not connected xbmc says opening tray then you can close tray when pressing A, once closed it opens automatically EVEN when the drive is not connected
bought another slim with the same drive and done everything again and still the same thing

yes the eject switch on the ck3 opens closes as normal
i erased the same pcb and started from scratch everything goes OK through jf but once i put it back into the console doesnt work...even without the drive being connected to the console
before i done ANYTHING i updated my console to new dash checked the system information on the console and under where it says what dash i have n so on it has the letter F:0 but when i reconnect the drive that F:0 is gone...everything else thats ment to be there is still there just no F:0...anyways ive destroyed my console it doesnt start anymore i put my fist through the dvd drive while it was on and in the console and went crazy
so im either gonna throw it or...iruno its like the old consoles were easier 2 flash 4 me then this i have ANOTHER brand new console not opened or touched but im just gonna return it and get my money back UNLESS theres a modder in SYDNEY that can do it all for me...thanx tx c4eva and uber and anyone else that helped but i sorta quit for now...
