Hello everyone and happy new year !
so, i bought an already flashed Xbox 360 slim with liteon 16d4s drive and 2.0.16537 dashboard
the catch is it can only play old games nothing more than mid 2012 i think, i took it recently to a friend who use to flash xboxes
and he told me that he upgrade it to the lt 3.0 with no success (it still play only old games and shows the message your disc is dirty blabla when a new game is inserted)
so he told me he thinks that i should change the pcb (he is not sure) any idea what i should do ?

Thanks in advance !

Burned xgd3 backup games will stress the laser, to read them, way more than the older xgd2 backup games. My guess is that you should first check in if it is not your laser that is getting weak(er).

Try a original xgd3 game and see what it does. If it still gives you dirty disc or any other read error, big chance your laser needs a replacement. Easier than the pcb change btw.

Not so often, but possible though, these errors can also be caused by weak or broken drive spindle motor or worm motor. Keep that in mind if a laser replacement isn't solving the problem.

I have a slim flashed with LT3 and on dash 16537 and i have no problems with newer backups of my retails like cod ghosts etc so i don't think it is your pcb possibly the laser or your backups are not done correctly i could be totally wrong,im sure one of the more experienced guys will be along to help.

Thanks for the helpful answers !
So, i don't think the problem is coming from the backups because they work perfectly on another xbox Tomma66
Xzanox then i have to try an original new game and if it doesn't work do i get to change my drive ? or the laser alone ?
and if it work ?

If it doesn't work, most likely is your laser. Change the drive is drastic and unnecessary if it's your laser. It's not a hard install.

I had this problem with a drive that wasnt flashed, I cleaned the laser with isopropal alcohol, and it worked again. I wouldnt call this a permanent fix, but it is worth looking in to before shelling out a bunch of money/

Much thanks for the fast answers guys, really appreciated
So i'll check later with an original XGD 3 to see if it work, and if it doesn't i'll change the laser
(though i find it a later strange that old 2011 backups work flawlessly if the laser was faulty, isn't ?)

to sum it up, old backups are working flawlessly but new backups aren't working it gives me the clean the disk error
original XGD3 working fine
