UpDating Bios

I keep reading about new bios being created, I would like to know if its worth updating the bios? If it is, how do you update it?

Most of the time it's worth it... I update mine when a new one comes out. If you want to know how to update it... search... there are tutorials you can follow.

Hello, I want to update my bios try to load it from cd but my Thompson drive will not load it it says , no updates found..
My real question is: Can I take the stock HD and hook it to my pc and make a C:\BIOS\M8+Bios.bin then re place back in my xbox and load it from HD
Does that work?? has anyone tried to do it?? or other ways ones know how to get the update to be recinized on a Thompson , Verbabum dvd-r.... using a 2gig bummy file and the M8.bin buring labled as m8bios? Im stuck cant get it updated from 3.0.1 flash protect is off... chip is enabled..and using a Executer2.6 on a v1.0 box PC has a Plextor DVD Burner..

My pc is Junk.. My dream system is not done yet..
For some reason I cant get loged in w/ a ftp.. My xbox tryes & wates for the ip and then freezes ...after I unplug the cat5 from my xbox, I can get a unable to resolve ip then a somthing dns..... bit I cant get loged in using the ip the screen says...
I use to get in w /ftp on my other xbox.. but now i have a new modded 1.0 box and 2.6CE solderless chip, but a Thompson drive.. It keeps saying no update found..the slayer autoinstller 2.6 will not even load.. burned on a memorex dvd-r
I just want to take out my stock xbox drive and see if it works..I also need to know if the M8+ is what I should use....

No... you can't just pop in the HD to your PC, beacuse the PC won't recognize it. PC's and Xbox's use different file systems!!! If you can't FTP into your xbox... SEARCH!!! If this was a hard thing to find, i wouldn't be upset... BUT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF DETAILED TUTORIALS ON FTP'ing. And why are you hijacking this guys thread?

Sorry Hijacking was not my intention.. so looks like I have to get a samsung drive ..or go to a friends home and use there

The Flashbios is HTTP not FTP , try using your web browser to connect to it.

How have you created your BIOS CD? Did you burn an ISO....etc....? What is your BIOS file called (bios.bin)?

Does your drive work for other purposes?

Anyway, you say you want to UPDATE your BIOS. Have you already got a fully working chipped Xbox? If you have, go and download FlashX - it's and Xbox programme that will flash your BIOS. You need to put the BIN file into C:\BIOS (or E:\BIOS or F:\BIOS). If so, load it up - you'll work it out surely!!
