RGH UPDATING COOLRUNNER/NANDX post RGH

is there any reason to have a port fitted to my RGH'd falcon (via a third party RGH modder) I have been told that I dont need to update the coolrunner/nandx
but i see these nandx update usb cables etc..
please advise

It is most probably to read/write the NAND, I would keep it there in case the system ever needs externally programming.

An image of the said port would be useful so we can tell you exactly what it is for.

I havent had the port fitted , but was asking do I really need it if i have backups of my necessary files

No need to reconnect the nandx unless things go badly wrong in a flash (that's quite rare but can happen) Updates are recommended by software through xell or xellous as they are more reliable anyway. Dumping and writing to nand can be done without hardware through various programs anyway.
