Updating Firmware using Xtreme boot maker

I just had a quick question, I'm new to updating the firmware on my xbox 360 and i just bought the via sata card from tekgems.com, I have a samsung drive(not sure if its ms25 or ms28 cause i havent opened the 360 yet), but my question is, when you are actually flashing the drive, do you have to type in your real serial number or not, because when i was watching one of "textbook's" video tutorials, he just typed in 1234567 12345 and i didnt know if i should type that in or use my actual serial number for my xbox 360???

i would use iprep to flash with
it dont matter what numbers you use but if you use your ser# then you will know what firmware is for what 360.
