Hello Guys

Im a little confused (as always) and was just wanting to check something. My switch has always been offline since using CFW. If I was to boot in original firmware case I then update the machine safely and then re boot the CFW or is there a better way?

Thanks as always for all the help.

If you don’t care about ban - you can update thru auto update.
You can also do it completely offline for you’re console thru ChoiDujourNX.

But since 7.X ofw support in a beta status, it’s better to wait for stable release. That beta, which is working thou, was rushed for those who updated to 7.X ofw by any reason. I’m personally still using 6.2 ofw with latest stable SX OS and I don’t see any critical points for update.

Only reasom imho for updating to never firmware is if you have games or updates that is requiring never firmware (signed with masterkey 7) or ofcaurse if you play online, but in your case i can see you don't

You can use CHoijudourNX to update offline if you do not want to connect to Nintendo's servers. Like Victorb9 said if you don't care about being banned then just update officially. Just make sure you check that Nintendo has not released a newer FW first. As of this post 7.0.1 is the newest.

Also like Hackerjac said there is really no reason to update unless a game is forcing you to or you want to play online, but playing online after modding your console is basically asking for a ban.

I have been using the 2.6.1 Beta since it was released and have had no issues. Only thing that I do not use that it seems a lot of other users do it an external drive, but plenty of people have confirmed that is working. There is really no reason not to update at this point.

If you want to keep your 6.2FW, just create an emunand and then update the emunand.
