Updating Original FW

Hi Guys

Ive tried teaching the forums for a definitive answer. I have read the guide how-to-update-firmware-offline-nintendo-switch-with-choidujournx.128170 but all I want to do is update the original FW which is required to play some online games. I however would prefer not to update the Custom FW.

Can I just update using the built in switch update while booted to the official FW or will this burn fuses and cause the Custom FW not to boot?

If not using emunand you will always update the CFW along side the OFW since the only diff is some patches being loaded on boot
If you update the OFW and make a normal boot to play online you will burn the fuse

So how would I update the OFW without burning a fuse or is it not possible?

Its possible, you to either enable autorcm (choi does that if you don't deselect it) or use the jig every time, and then boot it with your dongle or the way you normal inject the payload, then from the SX splash choose boot ofw
But if you do either of that and play online then there is a big risk of being banned by the big N

Thanks a lot for the help. What I did was just updated the CFW with Choi then tested all my apps and home brew. Once I was happy it was all working I just booted the OFW and did the update the standard Nintendo way.
