Updating Past 8.1

Been away from switch for a while and on version 8.1 in sysnand and emunand. was planning on updating it and seen some issues posted about the card slot? is this still an issue? Can anyone explain this? what is by best update option? does 9+ break anything else? Edit. I have already updated boot.dat to latest SXOS 2.9.3.

There is a game cart update when updating to 9.x.x, I haven't had any issues with it though. You need to update choi to 1.0.2, download the fw you want and flash it with choi. I'm on emuNand and I have had no issues with it but I recently went back to 8.1.0 it is still working fine for me and the lockscreen theme still works. (lockscreen themes don't work with 9.x.x and up with sxos so far)
