Updating samsung filmware

Hi
Can any one help please

I have an old phat 360 with a flashed samsung drive .(banned from xbox live)
I flashed the drive serveral years ago and now iam looking to re flash it to an up to date filmware ie 1.9
My question is do i need to update to the lastest dashboard which i beleive will unflash my drive and then just reflash my drive again after the dashboard up date ?

you will need to flash to stock firmware to complete the update flash to stock, update dash, flash to newest firmware

Yeah flash back to stock fw then update dash then flash iXtreme 2.1 for Samsung drives!! Don't forget to dump your fw before you do any flashing, and check you have your drive key!!!
