So here's the thing.

I have a 2006 xenon which runs perfectly fine and did for a while. (Bear in mind this xbox was given to me).

When updating to the latest dash (at the time) it gave me the following error:
23ef-335a-b380-0402-c000-0001

Taking apart the first 2 parts and changing them to decimal from hex shows the 2 dashboards it is stuck between. 9199 and 13146.

So, I took a look at the DVD drive firmware, and turns out the drive in the console (Hitatchi 47 series) returns the following info:

Code:
Hitachi Dump file saved to Hit-OFW.bin
Drive key @ 0x4F00 7C35947E9252B487A3FC59F7AB11A7F9
Firmware Osig: [HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR3120L0047]
Spoofed As: [PBDS VAD6038-64930C ]
So, I tried restoring original FW (without the spoof) which didn't work, I tried restoring original then manually spoofing - which also didn't work. I then used the auto spoof function, which did work however still then froze on the update at around 30%.

I then took an old BENQ (since it was spoofed as that) and flashed on the 9199 original FW with the correct DVD key however that did not work at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions? It'd be nice to get this working, as if not I have a useless Xenon mobo and a drive that's not really of any use too.

PS: Sorry if this is in the wrong place, not quite sure where else it'd fit.

put a hitatchi in and flash it with the orig47 fw usein your drive key then try and update.

see how you go.it's spoofed so will fail update..

Ok just saw your previous comment that it happens as soon as you turn on.

If it was updating from a game DVD you need to have that DVD in the console. If it was from online, then burn the update to CD and put that in.

Try that with BenQ stock and if not try with LT1.91

spoofing is not allowed and you might have to go back to a hitachi

take your benq and flash your key into it along with the stock fw for post 13146. think its 0442 you can get it in any of the latest fw packs for lt 1.9, 1.91 etc.

obviously dont spoof it as anything else.

once you have done that see if it will continue the update online with your ethernet cable plugged in if not burn the 13146 update to cd from xbox.com and try that. ive had a lot more success with sorting stuck updates burning the update to cd than any other method.

failing that try putting your hitachi back in but unspoofed
