Upgrade from 4.1.0 to 6.1.0 would sx os work?

Hi,
In new to the scene and I have been reading and watching videos on how to hack my switch which is currently on ofw 4.1.0 and I would like to know if it is recommended to update to the latest ofw before I try the sx os cfw. Please note, I have not make it a NAND backup or try any other methods to hack my switch.

I appreciate your help in advance. I really need some advice.

I will not connect to the internet unless I need to update to the latest firmware

If your switch is abel to run SX Os now, it still will if you update it, Nintende can't patch the hole used with an software update

One last question, if I run SX os under 4.1 and update to 6.1 after using the normal via WiFi, will the console get banned? Currently, my Nintendo account is not associated or linked to the console

No one can give you an strait answer to that, but mine was born with 3.1 and i have updated it regular ever since and haven't got banned
