Upgrade from old to new bios question

Hi there,

I have just fitted a Xecuter 3 but the only bios i could find at the time with no internet connection was called 4979.67_256k

Alll my switches were set to the left and i installed the bios from a cd i burned.

It works great. But i have just found the new bios for X3 and i dont know how to install it. What should the switches be set at? Is it possible that i may lose what i have already?

I have copied the bios to C:Bios\ but when i change the switches and manage to boot into cromwell the green bar for flashing only goes a third of the way across.

Can anyone help me please, sorry if this has been done before, i have looked in previous posts but cant see anything that fits my description.

I have been running intot he problem recently of ABGX not finding the correct files to check against certain games. Has anyone had any luck with Army of Two's verification?

dont u know already why games wont verify? cos there not on the abgx360 database online, because the game only just cam out! duh... anyway give it about a week or two and they will put it up on the database. this happens with all games btw, go on abgx360.net to check out which games are on the data base.

this is also why abgx downloads weird named files becuase it checks the video partition with the online one to see if there the same, if there not then the game fails verification.

thought people knew this stuff already?!

I do know this. The reason I am asking is because I have been reading of people that have run it through ABGX and get it to verify. The game is already listed on their database. My question is why if its listed it already, why it won't verify.

Sorry, realized I worded the question poorly.

I've had this problem with a couple games.

ya see i was right, do ya research before posting, i learned that a hard way. (bricked like 2 drives, messed up pot tweak on 2 drives)

You shouldn't be taking games on Live anyway, so what does it really matter if games verify right now or not?

it doesnt matter if you play live or not you still run the SAME risk of being banned.

I did do my research. I did not know that ABGX has two sites though. I kept going to www.abgx.net which shows it as listed or did at the time where www.abgx360.net was completely different.

And if you aren't on Live, you can't get banned. So he is right. If your xbox is offline the whole time or not connected to their network, you are safe.

I hope C4E figures out how to unban. I am convinced it's just a software switch. Cause you aren't technically banned from Live if your console gets banned.

My buddy left his box connected after he got banned and recovered his tag onto his friends console. When he got home, he could no longer use his account since it had been recovered else were. So despite anything, there is still a connection there to Live servers.

As soon as you flash your drive and play a backup game then the chip on your Motherboard logs all the information anyway so whether you play online or offline technically your not safe no matter what cause whenever you DO connect to XBOX LIVE all the information gets past through MS servers :)

Yea, but not like it matters if you never play on live...which means you live under a rock somewhere. Which makes me wonder why you would have an Xbox living under a rock.

OK to sum it all up, abgx.net looks like a fake site to me where as abgx360.net looks more real kinda thing . abgx360 is the site thats most up to date and the genuine. abgx.net i have no clue about and i dont reli care. if your offline and you flash your consol the nand saves it ready to send to m$. when you log on ur hit with the ban hammer.

Both of these sites are legit. One is for the IRC chat and relevant stuff and the other site is for the verification details and download of ABGX360.

As for the banning your console is flagged ready for ban and then when the next ban wave hits whenever that is your banned :(

Hope this clears that one up :)
