Upgrade to FlashBIOS v3.0.3

How do I upgrade my version of FlashBIOS?

(Currently this is stored in the 256k Backup bank if I'm correct).

Do I either:

1. Flash (over) the 256k backup with the new version of FlashBIOS v3.0.3 (if so how?)

or:-

2. Flash the new version of FlashBIOS to a spare 256k Bank of the selectable 2Mb BIOS???

The way I do it is I have a directory on my f drive called bios files. I put the flash bios files in there all with their given names i.e. fb300 fb301... Now when a new bios comes out I ftp the bios file into my bios dir then I just go into config live bios tools and upgrade the backup bios.

why not put a hacked bios on your backup ? like x2 or evox ?

why do you need to upgrade your flashbios anyway ? its just an app for flashing other bios's - absolutley not required if you flash x3 with success

So you are overwriting the backup?and not flashing to the main 2mb of flash ROM?

I don't really have any desire to upgrade my FlashBios. I am just trying to learn more about the way the X3 bios works.

You have a 2MB main flash area. Then you have a separate 256k flash space. So when you are upgrading the flashbios you are not touching the 2MB bios area at all. It is possible however to flash any of the 256k banks with flashbios as well and it will run from there also. In that situation it will not run however, when you press the power & eject buttons, only the actuall backup flash area is used in that scenario.

LT and Spoffing a drive ?

so i have a Benq drive and the lazer is Dieing and i have a spare lite on 7xxx can i spoof a it with LT




if not why cant I ?

i heard something about not being able to spoof drives !!! anymore so what if we want to switch drives or something we cant no more ?

you cannot spoof LT on Liteon Drives!
the idea of LT is to be as close as possible to stock, spoofing the Liteon firmware is not tha same as spoofing other fw and in consequence the ability to spoof it was removed from the LT fw.

if you want to switch drives you will have to stick to non LT firmware and just don't go online.
