upgraded hard drive and xbox live

Hey everyone, this is my first post and I am having a problem with getting on xbox live once I have upgraded my HDD to a 160GB. I have the evox up and running and I can get back to the MS dashboard but I am afraid to go online because my chip is still on. BUT when I turn off the chip all I get is the green "service required" is it ok to just go online through the evox? or do I have to do something special to it. thank you for your help and I hope to keep in touch with you all. oh ya I have the xecuter 2.6ce.

if your error is error5 lock your hard drive then try ms dash
do not go on live with evox as your modchip will be on to use evox

thank you, but when I goto the HDD lock is says it is disabled and when I try to turn it on it says "cannot lock a drive before unlocking it first"

Try locking it with flashbios. I would also make sure your drive is lockable. There is a link in my sig to help determine that.

ok I have that problem solved, now I have another problem. lol when I try to go online it says 'your xbox console cannot communicate with Xbox live because the software or hardware may have been modified. See www.xbox.com/connect for more information' does this mean I can no longer go online with my new HDD?

your chip was off when you were online i hope so for you

I know I wasn't online with it though, it was working fine, then I took it to my buddies house (didn't plug a network cable in) an not its messed! I dunno what to do? is that what would show up if I was banned?

Does this happen with the chip on or off? 5035 blocks Xbox live, but if you didn't use that you are more than likely banned.
