For some reason I decided to update my bios ( I've used the same box I modded almost 2 years ago) to a newer version on Slayers New Install Disk. The flash completed successfully, but when it restarted. I got a wierd noise followed by Green Light, Power Off, Green Light, Power Off, Green Light, Power Off, FRAG. Unfortunately I don't have my 2.6 programmer anymore. I've always used the same bios that I put on a DVD-RW.
AFAIK, I used the correct bios that was for 137GB+ with F Drive for v1.0 - 1.5
My question is what went wrong, and how can I recover with my box fragging? I've tried to boot with a different bank, boot disk in drive, orig xbox bios (chip disabled), but to no avail.
If I have a working box that is already modded, can I use the swap method to reflash the chip (ie: boot with working mod chip to bios flasher, swap mod chip, flash bios, reboot)?
I've been modding boxes for a few years now, but I don't have my usual tools anymore and need some help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
By the way, what is the best, most stable bios so I do not have this problem again? I need 137GB+ with F drive (no G drive), have stealth compatibility and boot XBMC dash from F drive, Non v1.6 XBOX with X2.6 CE chip.
