Are there any way to transfer the files plugging them to the computer's ide cable without having to fxp back and forth? I know there are a bunch of hdd programs on this site but none of them seem to have any function to transfer files

I believe there are drivers that would allow you to use an Xbox drive (FatX) in Windows XP, but I am not sure how well they work. Check Xbox-scene.com for info on them. FTP is probably your best bet.

The FatX driver from xbox-scene.com doesn't work. It's missing a bunch of dll files. Downloaded elsewhere and they are all the same. I don't have enough free space on my computer harddrive to transfer 160gig. Any other methods? Thanks.

Does it tell you what the missing DLLs are? If they are something like the VB runtimes they are available multiple places around the net, including straight from Microsoft. I've used a number of programs in my time that required me to pull down a DLL or two from the net. Adding DLLs is one thing, if something is prompting you to replace your DLLs with a different version be very careful about this. You can screw up your Windows install.

I downloaded all the dll files already but now it says something is wrong with line 9 in one of the dll. oh well, guess the fatx is not compatible with windows xp sp2
