I tried flashing my drive and when I ejected the tray it made a loud noise and the tray wouldn't open. I heard like something spinning really fast I think. After that I reassembled it to see if everything was ok but it turns out it now gives me the infamous "open tray" error. As far as I know I messed up the open/close mechanism somehow so I think anyone who is experienced with drives should be able to easily fix this.
Cliffs:
-Drive broke, possibly open/close mechanism. Should be ez fix.
-How much will it cost to fix and flash?
