LITEON 74850 USB Dash Update. What have I done?

Thanks for taking a look at this, I'm really stuck!

So I had a lite on flashed to LT 1.1. Did this a year ago with Window XP 32bit. Original extract was with Dosflash, I still have all the files.

I wanted to update to 2.0. So I checked everything was still working. CK3 Blaster, Via Card, drive was detectable in Jungleflasher. So far so good.

Of course I actually forgot to revert back to stock FW. And stuck in a FAT32 usb stick with the latest update in the front right port. Booted xbox, yes to update and it started. I left the room and came back to the long error code. Something odd was going on when I tried to restart. Firstly the power light was flashing rapidly and then would stay on, the progress bar would be at about 20%, never moving, the power light would start flashing again and the final "unable to update" message would appear. All the time the DVD would not eject at all.

So I have had a go and putting this right. I can flash many different types of firmware onto the drive and it starts operating again. Only this time, when I boot up, the power light behaves normally and the dvd drive works but i IMMEDIATELY get the error code (ie rather than a progress bar). To me it seems the xbox is expecting to flash the drive and cant.

Whatever firmware I put in same happens. Whenever I leave the drive in a vendor mode, I can see the flashing power light, the progress bar and then the error message (ie just like it was when originally updating)

Also tried a dvd with update at boot. Very briefly showed a progress (<1 sec) and then error. (this of course is when the drive is operational)

So what have I done?
I hope a combination of things might fix things but I think my situation is a reflection of how uniquely stupid Ive been.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

then your update is lacking

put the update that you were updating to on a FAT32 again, use the back USB port on the xbox

Thank you

Im afraid that doesnt work either. Front or back ports. Two different usb sticks tried.

try 2.0 on the drive

make sure you are flashing with the correct key

it wont' update if you have the wrong key on the drive
Thank you

That didnt work either.

Regarding the key. Im using a dummy.bin source and manually adding in the key from key.bin to target firmware. (heard spoofing was an issue elsewhere)

Does anyone have comment on the green flashing power light? I suggested to me the drive was put into that state by the update ?for flashing. And then is screwed up presumably due to the LT 1.1 being present.

One thing I note in the th MTK window in Jungleflasher the key verification doesnt light up. Is it definitely my key. And I can add to target firmware ok.

FIXED!

Thanks for the help.

I did a Lite On Erase after trying all the various firmwares, and left it unwritten.

Booting in that state, with USB stick in the back with the update. Fast flashing green power light, then the update completed!

So Happy :D
