usb flash drive

hi in my bios settings it says booting usb fdd in the boot selection does this mean i cant use a usb flash drive to boot from thanks

I would assume so. Format it and try it out. You're not going to break anything.

i have tried to boot from it it just boots right back to windows

try unplugging your sata harddisk that has windows on it or u can also remove all cables from ure pc and only connect the usb flash drive.

tried that also no go i can boot from floppy but that dont seem safe to me my floppy takes for to run what other options do i have on this thanks

Try your flash drive on other machines, see if it boots them. Not all flash drives are bootable so maybe it's that. I had the same problem you did, spent a couple hours one morning trying 12 different ways to make my flash drive bootable with no luck. I eventually got so frustrated that I just went ahead and did both of my 360s one after another with a regular old floppy and it worked fine but I can't recommend that.
