Is it possible to connect a second harddrive, actually a USB HD as a second drive?

Does the X3control Panel have usb ports built/connected to it? If so, would it be possible to attach a HD this route?

Well, the ports on top of the controllers are USB ports, and the memory packs are really memory sticks... so yes, in theory, I believe it to be possible. However, I don't believe that you'd be able to boot from it or anything. But, hey, I guess you're really asking for the opinion of somebody more knowledgeable then I, so I'll shut up.

the best you can do with a USB drive is save games to them. Just be careful, if you have a usb stick with regular files on it, and you go to the MS dash, stupid MS will automatically erase your memory stick and rewrite it with fatx formatting

You can use the hdd to backup anything, but relize this; the usb is on USB1, so the data transfer is VERY slow. So if your looking to access games off of a USB HDD then, No, wont happen.

This would be the best way to add a second hd without using that ugly ass xtender if it worked.

could the USB HDD backup DVDs or music
yes BUT it would take a long ass time. Not worth it. The loading time would be worse then being on 56k for a internet connection.
