Hello there,
I've been trying to update my TS-H943 MS-25, which was flashed afew months back with the Xtreme5.3 firmware i think - off the top of my head anyway.

So i want to update my firmware to the lastest iXtreme_Samsung_v1.2 revC. I figured i'd go for the badflash method of updating. Correct me on this if i'm wrong, but i don't need to use the iDump method first, since i already have my original firmware backed up, or do i?

I just figured i could jump straight to iFLASH.

Anyway my real problem is i can't boot into my Usb pen drive. I unplug all of the dvd drives / HD etc, i make sure i set my USB kingston pen drive to 1st priority - boot wise. But....The problem is when i start up the computer, it gets to the usb pen drive and just gives me this message :-

Remove disks or other media
Press any key to restart

Thats all i get over and over. And...I've checked a million times, there's nothing else connected except the pen drive.

By the way i'm using a Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. Any chance anybody could be kind enough to help me.

Thanks CC :)

I used Iprep. I did everything that the textbook tutorial said. Select firmware, check custom serial ATA etc, tick Format/Make device bootable.

I even formated my pen drive through windows and tried again with Iprep etc. Still gives me the same message :-

Remove disks or other media
Press any key to restart

Just won't boot up the DOS screen :-(

I remember doing this fine afew months back with my last PC. i had the Gigabyte DS4 motherboard back then.

try all the different setting in the bios for booting to the usb.
i hate to say this if all else fails try the floppy.
there is a way to do it off a drive but ive never done it.

I eventually sorted the problem out. I had to select Restore device defaults in the windows format options, after that i did a quick format of the USB pen drive and used Iprep.

Anyway turned out to be a waste of time in the end. Remember afew months back when M$ started banning aload of consoles. Well i read about that the very day it happened and chose not to log my xbox in live for fear of being banned.

So after all this time, i thought i'd update the firmware and give Live a bash and see what happens........Well bad news for me, i got banned lol.

Oh well :-(

Funny thing is, i legitimatly used my modded xbox 360 to play my "legal" backups, with of course the exception of afew games like TMNT and Lost Planet i think - which where copies.

Now i'm banned there's absoltely zero chance i'm gonna be purchasing games, since i've been totally denied the access of Live features....Think about it, who would purchase games for a banned system.

Anyway i'm not endorsing piracy, but banning people will have a negative affect. Not only do you lose the subscription money, but you also steer people into the direction of 100% piracy.

well you cant talk about games you dont own.
that said there is some truth in what you said.
however some people are going to play on live even if they have to buy a new 360.
