usb questions?

before i buy a usb key, i have some questions. when i buy one, i heard that i must install something on it so its bootable...is it true?how does it work?

no you dont, its just a matter of what you bought is bootable.

My memorex 2GB traveldrive worked just fine

ok, so if my usb is not bootable, it doesnt matter if i install stg on it, it wont work?
how does a bootable usb cost?
