HITACHI 79 use dvd in place of audio cd ?

and which lt+ is newest for hitachi 79, is it lt +2.0 or new

Think he's asking about the '79 Unlock' CD that's supposed to be burned as an audio cd. I have no idea if the same image can be burned to a DVD, I would imagine so as the drive is only reading the raw data, not actually playing any sort of actual audio file..but I've never tried it.

it has to be on a CD

doesn't work on a DVD

if the drive is already flashed with modded fw, you don't need the unlock CD
you can just eject the drive, then power cycle it

That's pretty clever, since it's an audio track which plays to unlock it.

The Audio Tracks itself doesnt unlock the drive, its used to get payload into ram (bunch of nops and a few other instructions). Once executed this code will remove the lock.
But i think you know that
